It's me again, back after a rather long break.
Somehow filled with nostalgia after reading Good morning yesterday, a blog that looks back at old Singapore and is filled with many evocative old photographs.
It hearkens back to my childhood too, and with current reports of Farrer Court being redeveloped, I am thinking of the old flat, where I lived as a teenager in the mid-70s.
I remember Farrer Road in the days before flyovers and underpasses, when even the Farrer Court entrance on Farrer Road was not ready, and we had to cross the big drain on flimsy planks to get to the market and HDB shops at block 8.
I think I'll post more nostalgia entries in the next few days.
That nostalgia blog set me thinking of all the old places and memories.

My first matrimonial home was at Farrer Court Block C (circa 1979), the block nearest to the wet market. Luckily I took photos of the view from my long balcony and master bedroom. I used to stand in the balcony every morning to decide which direction to take to get to CBD - via Holland Road or via Bukit Timah Road because of the frequent traffic congestion.
There was a beef ball soup stall in the hawker center - very pathetic then for a HDB estate. There was also West lake Restaurant.
