Every momentous event makes me realise that time just keeps moving on.
Every Olympics or football World Cup season, I look at my children and wonder what they will be doing four years down the road during the next season.
And very quickly, that time seems to come around.
It also shows how quickly children grow up. I have gone from rocking them to sleep while watching events on TV to watching with them to trying to reason with them for rights to the remote control.
Last night, we were watching the F1 Grand Prix together at home for a while, and then everyone moved off to do their own thing.
It set me thinking of all the momentous events I've watched on TV over the years, starting from Man's first steps on the moon, as watched on a black and white TV in 1969.
Then, there were the National Day Parades at the Padang or the National Stadium, and the many National Day Rally speeches, the early ones being telecast from the National Theatre.
These days, many more events are watched "live" on TV or computer via live streaming.
But for me, a product of the TV rather than computer generation, watching news telecasts are kind of nostalgic.
